1911 Grips - Siberian Wooly Mammoth Molar - #559
These one-of-a-kind 1911 grips are handcrafted from genuine Woolly Mammoth molar, a fossil material over 10,000 years old, preserved in the frozen ground of Siberia, Russia. Every set showcases millions of years of natural history, making it impossible to find another pair exactly like yours.
The striking colors in these grips are entirely natural. Rich jet black, creamy ivory white, and stunning shades of blue flow together in dramatic patterns that resemble marble, ocean waves, and storm clouds. The mineralization that occurred during thousands of years beneath the Siberian permafrost created these incredible colors and contrasts.
Each grip begins as authentic fossilized mammoth molar before being carefully handcrafted, shaped, polished, and fitted by hand in my shop in Central Texas.
While mammoth molar is breathtakingly beautiful, it is also a fossil material. To ensure these grips are suitable for everyday ownership, each panel is professionally backed with carbon fiber, dramatically increasing strength and stability without adding unnecessary weight. The result is a grip that combines prehistoric beauty with modern engineering.

The Woolly Mammoth roamed the northern plains of Europe, Asia, and North America during the last Ice Age. Standing up to 13 feet tall and weighing several tons, these magnificent animals disappeared roughly 10,000 years ago, leaving behind fossilized remains that are now treasured by collectors and craftsmen around the world.
The material used for these grips was recovered in Russia, where the permanently frozen ground has preserved mammoth remains for thousands of years. Today, fossilized mammoth molar is among the most unique natural materials available for custom firearm grips.
Because no two pieces of mammoth molar are alike, every set is truly one of one. The colors, patterns, and mineralization can never be duplicated, making your pistol as unique as the history locked inside the grips themselves.
These grips look especially stunning on stainless steel, hard chrome, polished nickel, and bright blued 1911s, where the vibrant blues and creamy whites create an unforgettable contrast.
